As Deputy Director, Rebecca Furst-Nichols has helped build Data2X and supports the initiative’s technical and data partnership work. She is co-author of the background report, Mapping Gender Data Gaps, which articulates the importance of gender data across development domains, identifying key gaps and ways forward to fill the gaps. At the UN Foundation, she also helped manage and write the A Roadmap for Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment report, which synthesized evidence and identifies interventions that are proven, promising, and high potential to increase women’s productivity and earnings. Prior to joining UNF, she worked as a Project Manager at the Feinstein International Center, Tufts University where she conducted field research on livelihoods with migrants and refugees and oversaw projects in six sites. Rebecca has worked and lived in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, France, Ecuador and Israel. She holds an MA in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School, Tufts University.
